DAVID CONQUERING
BY FAITH, IN EXILE
I Samuel 27
While David was in exile, God used David for 16 months in the land of the Philistines. David told Achish, Prince of Gaad, that he was attacking lower Israel. In reality, David was advancing the kingdom of Israel by plundering the Philistines, and leaving no man or woman alive to tell Prince Gaad of his true intentions.
The Lord used David to build the Kingdom of Israel while in exile, even before David was to take the throne as the next anointed king. God had David do what must have been very difficult in order to prosper the people of Israel for the future and to fulfill His will.
David's exile was not a punishment from God, nor did it mean that God had abandoned him. Instead God used David’s time in exile for good purposes and to further sanctify him.
